Which version of LabVIEW are you using?

I can't find DDE functions in LV2010.

The DDE functions were removed from the palette may years ago, when Microsoft stopped supporting it and replaced them with ActiveX/COM/etc. They are still available though in dde.llb located in the \vi.lib\platform folder. Really only for legacy applications.

Is dde supported on windows 7? Are you using 32 or 64 bit windows 7? Is it still supported on whatever version of Excel you are using? Those are questions I would post to Microsoft. I would not recomend using it, in any case. Why don't you use the ActiveX functions?

Dear nyc & Dennis,

thank you for your answer, I am using 8.5 version and windows 7 32 bits, the objective of this application is just an example to be familiar with DDE. and the objective of using DDE to make a connection between IEC 61850 with HMI & SCADA

I look forward to hearing from you
