cDAQ-9188 Ethernet connection problem

Solved!
Go to solution

We bought 2 cDAQ-9188 and I am having trouble getting them to connect to the PC through the Ethernet. I can get them to work if I use a short cable (10ft) but the location I need them at is about 180ft away. When I do right click network devices and select find devices it comes back with nothing found. Would there be any suggestions on what I might have wrong or what I would need to do to get them to work? I am running LabView 2010 SP1 and the drivers that came with the cDAQ-9188 units.

I would check to see if the long cables are good (wired correctly).

Do you have another network ready device such as a laptop that you could plug in at the end to check the connection?  Are these units connected to a hub at all?

Evidently the Ethernet card in the PC we are using is weak. I have connected them to a router and placed the router close to the PC and they are now working great.
