Wiring an encoder to a NI 9149 module

I have a NI9149 FPGA chasis with four open slots. I want to connect a rotary encoder but I do not know how to wire it/ configure it under Project Items. I cannot find any guide describing this process so I am seeking so help. The encode is an I/O, 1000ppr photocraft encoder. I have a 15pin DB connector ready for wiring and I am seeking help on how to connect/configure it within out labview program. I attached a picture of the project items. Please let me know the steps for proper connection and configuration. Thank you!

Hi Higging,

According to your project tree there are two modules inserted: a NI9263 AO module and a NI9215 AI module.

Both of them are not dedicated to reading encoder signals. (You might try to read the encoder signals using the AI channels with some postprocessing, but that seems like overkill here.)

Yo need to choose a module which is able to read encoder signals directly!

You might try the NI9401 or NI9411 (DIO) or NI9361 (counters)…
