Why is Sample to Read important in Continiuos acquisition mode?

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am using continious acquisition mode in DAQ Assist in LabVIEW 8.0. I don't know why Samples to read is important here then? Shouldn't frequency or rate of sampling be important only here?

Regards,
Mehdi.

I  !!! THINK !!! that this has to do with the buffer size which is read. After a specific buffer is filled, it gets transferred to the host computer. That buffer is defined by the samples.

Hi Mehdi,

Somnatic is correct.  DAQmx uses the 'samples to read' value to set the necessary buffer size.  For more info, check out the LabVIEW Help file under Taking Measurements >> NI-DAQmx Key Concepts >> Reading and Writing Data >> Buffering >> How Is Buffer Size Determined?

Thanks,
