Those are VIs set to NOT be viewed as icons. Right click on them and select view as icon. To find out more information about what they do, turn on the context help and hover the mouse pointer over them. Press ctrl-h or select context help from the help menu. They seem to be VIs that were written as part of the example in the llb.
