What the filter is doing?

can someone tell me what the filter is doing?

I have fc equals to .1 and the signal goes in from 2 to -2 with some noise.

I know I can cut the noise out, but how much?

is .1 enough to cut noise from -1 to 1.

Also what is sampling at 20?...

Hey Jonas12,

Have you been able to look at the documentation for this VI, you can find that here. When you ask if it is enough to cut the noise it really depends on what you mean by enough. That would depend on your application.

Here is a link to a good page about filter design for Butterworth filters, it isn't LabVIEW related but could give you a better understanding of what the VI is doing.

The 20 is the sample rate, in Hz, and that is how fast the filter VI is sampling the signal input.
