What software packs do I need to download for my project?

For my project I need a webcam that can recognize the 4 signs of a book of cards (hearts, clovers, etc.). I know there are many free software packages available, but I have no idea which one I'll need. All it needs to do is just detect compare the sign to the images of the 4 sings to see which one matches. Can anyone help me with this?

I'm guessing that you have not been doing LabVIEW Development for several years, and are not well-versed in writing LabVIEW code and acquiring and displaying data.  What you are describing is using LabVIEW Vision to do pattern recognition and "recognize" things for you, which should not be attempted until you have significant LabVIEW experience under your belt.

Bob is right. If you are attempting for a student project, try using the NI pattern match example and start exploring NI Vision Assistant. What you are trying is very simple for any Vision expert.
