What is the best way to graph a VI curve?

Up until now, all the graphs and charts I've done used time as the x azis.  What is the best way to graph a VI curve where I have voltage on the x axis and current on the y axis?

XY-Chart, what else comes into your mind?

 

Edit: And those are called IV-Curve not VI-Curve (x comes before y in the alphabeth).

It does not matter what you call the x- and y-axis, the choice between waveform graph and xy graph only depends on the following:

 

  • If your x values are space equally (i.e. form a linear ramp), you use a waveform graph.
  • If your x-values are randomly spaced, you use an xy graph.
  • In both cases you can call the x axis anything you want (time, voltage, etc...). Just edit the axis label. 😉

 

In order to get correct x-values for a waveform chart, you need to set offset and multiplier to translate between array index and corresponding x-values.
