What driver do I need to gatehr data from NI USB-232/2?

Hi

 

I am trying to gather data from an ld instrument connected via rs232 to my NI USB-232/2 device. Can I gather data using the regular NI VISA read vi or do I need to install some new software for this application?

Standard VISA should work just fine. That's what we use with those devices.

My Measurement and Automation cannot see the USB-232/2 device. I have the labview 8.5.1 so am I missing some driver specific for this device?

Sorry, my bad. You need NI-Serial. You can find it in the driver downloads.
