My problem: in Win3.11 the VISA attribute functions don't seem to
work. In particular I get -1 for the DSR line. How can this be? does
any one know why what causes the line status to be 'unknown'?
I have this problem with a VISA driver for an old instrument. There
are some special handshaking requirements for this instrument, VISA is
essential. Driver design was performed on Win95/NT machines but the
instrument is usually run with an older, dedicated computer running
Windows3.11
The PDF manuals for VISA do not suggest that the VISA functions should
perform any differently under Win3.11, the only limitation appears to
be some issues to do with multi-threading - this should not be a
probl
em with my driver. I have used the interactive control utility
that comes with VISA, this definitely shows -1 for the DSR line, all
other lines have 0 or 1.
Does anyone know whether VISA is not fully implemented on Win3.11 or
have any other suggestions?
