What are some of your favorite practices in GUI design?

You must have more tech-savvy end users than I do 🙂

 

As for key navigation, I have a tendancy to use it sparingly.  Most often in non critical dialogue boxes.  If it is in the main portion of the program, I agree with crossrulz. I will do some key binding, but only for navigation. Again, nothing critical.
