Waveform graph - timestamps

My user should be able to manipulate a waveform graph in order to select the subset of data that are of interest, and then export such subset in a tdms file. I cannot understand how to detect the boundaries of the subset in terms of timestamps (that is, values shown on the X axis): I have tried accessing the XScale.Range property, but its minimum and maximum both take the very same value regardless of the values I see on the graph axis. In addition, I end up with error -1801 ("start value too large"). I am attaching a minimal version of my project. Any suggestions?
