Want to generate current loop from LabVIEW

Hi,

I want to develop 6 current loop (2ma-24ma) inputs to my machine from labview. Could you please help me which cDAQ I should and should be the correct approach.

Thanks

Prashant

The NI-9265 has 4 analog output channels for current.  So you'd need two of those.  It is 0-20 mA.  You said you needed up to 24 mA?  That is a very unusual specification.  Most current loops are going to be 0-20 or 4-20 mA.

Hi,

It was 2-22 ma, Yes it is unusual, But we have to have 22 ma for short circuit condition. Kindly suggest.

Thanks

Prashant

UPRR,

Here is a document describing how to do exactly what you want to do.

If you want to use cDAQ you will need 3 NI-9265 as they have 4 outputs and you require 2 outputs per 2-24mA current loop.

Hope this proves useful,

Pete

Peter,

That link is broken.  Only NI employees can see the internal ae.natinst.com domain.

Let me guess what it is doing.  It is using two output channels in parallel and each channel is sourcing half the needed current.

My mistake, and yes...your guess is exactly right.  🙂

That one had an extra http:// at the end breaking it.

Try this one.  http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/B990B1BB8C6228F286256DDA005526E0?OpenDocument
