VI that acts like Hyperterminal

Hi,

for my application I need to communicate with a datalogger via a serial
interface. Until now I´m doing this with Hyperterminal which is included in
Windows. Now I want to automate Things a little and I´m trying to do this
with LV. So what I would need now is a VI that behaves like hyperterminal as
a starting point. This would mean that I can enter a string and then LV
writes everything that comes on COM1 in a textbox until a specific
ASCII-Code (3) arrives. Is there an example?
