Thank you for the help. I did get the functionality to work for the elapsed time and reset. Although I did use case structure. Just wanted to share.
Start the vi it looks at current time and where the time is in regards to the half- hour and hour.
Then gives a running count down till the alarm.
Only on the half-hour and hour alarm/led activates.
During that time if reset button is pressed, disables alarm/led till next time in the case is true.
Eliminates the ability to push reset button more than once during the loop till next alarm.
Finishing touches, possibly add a pop up message stating alarm time surpassed, deactivate alarm/led, and then stop vi.
