Using VB6 with PCI cards

We are trying to do a proof of concept test for digital data transfer. We plan to upgrade to modern equipment after we meet our goals/limits at which we will receive funding. We have a PCI DIO-32HS card and the fastest PC we could find in our bone yard with PCI slots. We want to use VB6 to send and receive digital data to a separate device and find the upper data limit as well as where the bottle necks occur. What does one need to download to get the proper drivers and please direct me to any similar vb6 examples. Thank you.

NIROBOT,

This might get more replies over on the Measurement Studio with VB6 message board. http://forums.ni.com/t5/Measurement-Studio-for-VB6/bd-p/230

It looks as though this should be possible. I know we added VB6 support in DAQmx version 7.5 and most documentation refers to needing 7.5 or later. The readme for DAQmx 9.6.1 mentions limited support for VB6, so my recommendation would be to go somewhere between those two versions and check the readme. DAQmx 8.5 would likely work.

As far as examples go and getting started help I was able to find a couple KnowledgeBase articles.

I hope this helps!

Thanks,

Thank you very much for pointing me in the correct direction.  You references are a great help. We had a project in 2001 that used a lot of NI toys and it was very fun and rewarding. It looks like this venture should be equally rewarding.
