Using 9401 as counter in cRIO 9022

Solved!

Hi All,

I'm using cRIO 9022 and 9401 is one of the module from it. I want to use 9401 as counter in FPGA VI. Is it possible? As Specialty Digital Configuration option is not available when the module is moved to FPGA target.

Yes, you can, and many of us regularly do.

Have a read of this link to get you started.

Thanks for reply. I gone through the link and did it. But what about Specialty Digital Configuration option? If it is available then I can directly get the count.

Hi Shrinivas

As suggested above, that is a good way design a counter in FPGA VI using digital I/O.

cRIO chassis can be configured in two modes Scan mode(only RT controller) and FPGA mode. ‘Specialty Digital Configuration’ is prebuilt functionality in the RIO Scan interface for high-speed counter, PWM etc., and is not available in the FPGA mode. If you still wish to use Specialty Digital Blocks create your VI in the RT controller.

Thanks, I'll try it in RT VI.
