Unsafe Removal of Device NIPALK when installing an aladdin hardlock dongle driver

I have installed LabView 7.1 and Measuremen&Automation Explorer 3.1.1. under Windows 2000 with all recent updates.
When I install a hardlock dongle driver from Aladdin (www.aladdin.com), a message from Windows appears telling me that I made a "Unsafe removal of Device" and lists "NIPALK".
The hardlock dongle is a USB device needed for a different software (license protection).
The error message is similar to other USB devices which have to be unmouted by clicking on a small "Unplug or Eject Hardware" icon in the system tray of Windows. See attached screenshot for the error message.

Any idea about the reason for this conflict between NIPALK and the USB device?
