Traditional daq devices not showing up in MAX

NI DAQ 7.4
PXI-1052
LabView 7.1.1
PXI-6602
PXI-6704
PXI-6251

We would like to use previous counter code. This is not working, since the traditional daq devices is missing in the 7.4 release. See the attached picture. Is there anyone who know why this is so?

Paulo, thanks for the reply.

The difference between our configurations is that I have a remote PXI RT system.

Hello Roger,

Have you gone to 'Tools->Traditional NI-DAQ Configuration->Remote DAQ Configuration' and then in the dialog box that appears entered the IP address to your remote system? If you have done that correctly you will see a new dialog box appear labeled 'Remote DAQ Configuration' where you can see your Traditional NI-DAQ devices and set up everything.

Hope this helps!

After some searching I found out that Traditional NI-DAQ has been removed in RT 7.1.

Hello Roger,
can you please show me the sites, which told you that Traditional NI_DAQ has been removed in RT 7.1 for the remote machine?
I wanted to look at them myself.
I have the same problem like you using
PXI-1042 chassis
PXI-8186 controller
PXI-6704 and PXI-6030E device for DAQ

Hello Jan,

Have a look here:

http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/A43DD6F680D123DD86256F870002B6A2

Cite: "For example, you will need to install the NI-DAQmx driver if you have an E series or M series board. Keep in mind that only NI-DAQmx 7.2 or above is supported in LabVIEW RT 7.1 and above"

http://www.ni.com/support/labview/real-time/drivers.htm

Here is another thread regarding synchronization, if that is the problem you are experiencing?

Jan, there is one thing more that I recalled from the thread with the 1052 problems,

DAQmx 7.5 and LV RT 7.1.1 seem to detect E series cards with these versions, but not with the older versions.

"The DAQmx 7.5 and LV RT 7.1.1 seem to detect E-series cards now)! When configuring the SCXI modules the chassis emits a "click", that wasn't present before. "

Hello Roger,
thank you for answering quick.
But my problem is not the DAQmx, there I can see both devices.
I cannot see the traditional NI-DAQ.
I tried allready the steps from this site
http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/34E111C6BB6868998625704600724AEE .
But my chassis is not listed, wehn I trie to add something.
Do you know how to activate traditional DAQ?

With my DAQmx I have also some problems.
I created a device like the examples you can find in Labview, but it cannot read or write from this channel.
If I put a voltage on that channel, it doesn't show up on my VI front-panel.
I tested the device with the test-panel of the Automation-explorer MAX, but there was no error.

Hello again Jan,

I don't think the RT 7.1.X has support for the traditional daq drivers together with a M- or E-series card! Maybe some NI support engineer can answer/verify this?

You could attach the VI, so I and others can have a look at your lv code?
