Time stamp to excel .....some thing is wrong in my program

Hi 

 

i am trying to write date and time to excel sheet i got this example from https://decibel.ni.com/content/docs/DOC-2108. but when i tried to write it on excel it is just showing the numbers but not exact date and time what i want.

some body have idea whats wrong in my VI(see attached file)?

Qazi,

 

There is nothing wrong with your VI.

After you use your VI and copy this to an excel cell, you have to format it to date/time.

Right click the cell, select Format Cells, and select Date or Time.

Thanks for the reply. but is it possible that i could set the format from labview rather then going to excel every time

and changing the format every time when report generated?

Hi Qazi,

 

I wrote a VI for you to make things simpler. It opens an excel file and sets the format of the active cell to date/time. Does this help?

You might want to swap up to this Version.  There are a few things that LVtime2Exceltime.vi  does not handle correctly (like Zone, DST and the Leapyear Bug in excel)  you may want to vote for this Idea

Hi thanks for the replies but when i tried 'Set_Cell_format.vi* it hangs labview all the time. is there any other solution?

i tried  Time to XL.vi as well but it seems not working not time display at all?

 

any other idea?

That's odd. I ran the VI before I sent it to you. Which LabVIEW are you using?
