Set front pannel UI which could fit to different resolution displays completely visible.

Hi...

I have made an application where I have used fit to decoration.vi to fix the front panel up to required part and developed in an large resolution where it was covering most of the scree but when  I run the same application on the other displays which are not same resolution and not as wide as the one where I developed the application, it's most part is going underneath the screen and I had to drag the window to use the underneath part.(This application is to be supplied and might be used in many different PC's)

Is there any way of making this front panel to adjust to different resolutions without changing whole front panel controls, Indicators and Font size and all
??

My frustrating mind needs a Helping company

Thanks and Regards

Hi Baig,

general rule: design your frontpanel for the most smallest resolution (pixel size) you want/need to support.

Making the frontpanel larger is much easier than shrinking it dynamically…

LabVIEW supports you with

  • automatically maximize the front panel to screen size
  • splitter bars to create several panes inside your front panel
  • have splitter bars adjust to changing front panel size
  • setting controls/indicators to adapt to pane size

Hi Baig,

  • start LabVIEW
  • open the LabVIEW help
  • search for topic "splitter bars, creating" (or go to chapter "Designing User Interfaces")
  • learn about splitter bars and panes
  • start the linked example VIs from LabVIEW help…
Best regards,
GerdW
