You did not mention what database you are talking to? If you are talking to SQL Server 7, then nvarchar will NOT work and only nchar will work. Can you change the datatype to "text" and see if that works? Also try with character numbers of less than 255. I have worked with it and it works just fine unless you are using some other database.
