SCXI - failed to find

I have my laptop connected via a parallel port cable to the back of my SCXI-1200
DAQ "card" (located in an SCXI-1000 chasis). Also in the -1000 chasis is
an SCXI-1100; a SCXI-1302 terminal block is hooked into the front part of
the -1200. I did the configuration in NI-DAQ, but upon executing the -1200
test panel in NI-DAQ, I get the response "failed to find: SCXI-1200 and the
SCXI-1100". I have checked/re-checked all the connections to no avail. What
do I need to do to get a proper connection between the laptop and the SCXI-1200.

Dear Dean:
Check your cable and make certain that the pins have continuity and that
they make contact with the female parts on your laptop and the SCXI-1200.
