Solved!

Thank you

Yes it is a problem with the exe.

I read the post about the paths but nothing has changed from when it worked to now it doesn't work except installing 2026.

If it is the RGT that is the issue, then the LV2026 installation moves it. Perhaps the code that generates the exe does not count the new location as part of the base and adds that randomly generated path when including the vi in the exe.

Perhaps it might be possible to copy the RTG files from a previous LV2024 installation and place them the right place, then refer directly to them in the project VIs. The old location would probably considered part of the basic LabVIEW installation.

I've use Package manager to remove RGT 2026 and guess what......

It's still available in the development environment.

This is so messed up.

At least now it is broken in the dev environment as well. Even though the vi's are there the application then gives a similar error to the exe.

I wasn't thinking about removing the LV2026 version of RGT. Keep it. Just find a copy of the LV2024 version of RTG and place it here: C:\Program Files (x86)\National Instruments\LabVIEW 2024\vi.lib\Utility\NIReport.llb. Then replace all your VI calls with direct links to these VIs. Perhaps that will force the exe builder to include them from the LV2024 vi.lib directory and the path will not be corrupted. Just an idea.

Hi Enthusiastic Tester

Thank you for your suggestion.

It seems to be working.

I took the excel folder from

C:\Program Files\NI\LVAddons\rgt\1\vi.lib\Utility\NIReport.llb\Excel

and copied it to

C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 2026\vi.lib\Utility\NIReport.llb

Then I added the LV_Excel.lvclass from

C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 2026\vi.lib\Utility\NIReport.llb\Excel\NI_Excel.lvclass

to my project.

In the build exe source files I added the lv_Excel.lvclass to always incuded

I built the EXE and ran it.

It opened the excel file as it should.

The other thing I did same as for the database toolkit I edited the json file

C:\Program Files\NI\LVAddons\rgt\1\lvaddoninfo.json

{
"AddonName": "rgt",
"ApiVersion": "v1",
"MinimumSupportedLVVersion": "24.0"
}

I changed the MinimumSupportedLVVersion to 24 from 26
