Re: Understanding digital output with NI USB-6210

Hey Sir, I am a student of Engineering. My Final Year project is Regarding PV panels performance enhancement. I want to know can I get seven temperature readings using thermocouples on NI-USB 6210. If yes Kindly share some details

Hi khawar,

the USB6210 supports 16 AI channels, but wasn't designed to support thermocouples directly...

You can use 3rd party signal amplifiers to convert the thermocouple voltages into industrial 0...10 V signals!

If you are limited to USB 6210, you need external Thermocouple amplifiers to convert the temperature to a 0-10V signal.

If you're open to better and easier options,

  1. https://www.ni.com/en-us/shop/hardware/products/compactdaq-temperature-measurement-bundle.html
  2. https://www.mccdaq.com/data-acquisition/temperature-measurement/thermocouple-RTD

In my opinion, going with the above options instead of 6210 will make your life easier.
