One thing crossed my mind.

Are you sure that the USB device supports the baudrate of 921600 ?

What is the result, zero bytes, error ?

Hi Kees,

Yes it does. I've also tried to configure the baudrate on the sensor to 460800 to use a NI USB-485, still works with their USB converter but not with either with the NI-8433 or USB-485.

And the most annoying thing is I get zero bytes back when sending a command and no error so nothing really points towards something specifically wrong!

Fred,

The data-line swap is still an option to try.

To be more sure can you measure the signals with an oscilloscope and compare the working and non-working situation ?
