Sure Jeff.
In an attempt to clean up the block diagram I deleted some unwanted icons (the one's you marked as orphans). I would like to know why I couldn't delete some of the palette icons (Serial write display, on/off switches and bytes read) in my block diagram. I tried selecting it and press delete but for some reason it's not deleting the icon. The display and the ON/OFF switch for serial write gets deleted once I delete them in Front Panel. But how do I get rid of the bytes read and ON/OFF switch for serial read ?
It doesn't interrupt the working of the code but please let me know on why this happens. Attached the VI for reference.
Thank you,
vzv

They are grouped together. Pick one of the controls and you will see the group of items all get highlighted. Go to the Reorder button at the end of the toolbar and pick "Ungroup". Now you will be able to delete the individual items.
