Hi richjoh,
There isn't an option within LabVIEW to disable network communication. The best option is to set exceptions for your firewall and make sure the necessary ports are open.

I'm fairly sure you can disable the behaviour of LabVIEW applications trying to bind to a socket for their built in VI server or web service. Other than that I'm not aware that a LabVIEW application would attempt to do anything with the socket library unless you explicitedly use TCP/IP or UDP Vis.
