R&S Spectrumanalyzer FSEM, How to make a Hardcopy via GPIB with Labview 14 ?

Solved!
Go to solution

Hi,

I have here an very old FSEM Spektrumanalyzer from Rhode & Schwarz and we want eleminate the floppy disk in our lab.

I can control the Basic functions from the  FSEM via GPIB with Labview 14 so far with the Labview Driver from R&S.

We try to use the "HCopy" function from the handbook but without success so far.

Have anybody an Idea of the right command an "VI" that I can use in my applicaton to get the screen shot from the FSEM transfered via GPIB to my Windows PC ?

Thank you for you feedback

Hi,

for the R&S FSEM (without NT Operation System)  I use the Driver from the NI download page, the Version is 1.0.

Labview Version 14.for Windows 7

And NI USB to GPIB Adapter is a 187965H

Thx

Hi,

I changed the driver to version 3.8.0 (original version was 3.7.2):added a possibility to transfer files and added one example for Hardcopy. Only tested it with R&S FSW, since it is not possible to get my hands on a FSEM.

Let me know how it went.

Hi Milo,

thank you very much  for your quick response.

I install your new lib inside the Labview, Libary Folder and I want to test it.

But...I couldn't manage to run it so for far 😞

Under which VI Palette you add the Hardcopy and Transfer Palette ?

I could't find it the example   in the zip file ?

Sorry for the  additional confusion from my side

Please can you give me a hint... I am more an expert for RF Stuff instead of Labview so far but I want to improve it.

Regards

M.

Hi RF_Antenna_Guy,

sorry, forgot to add that into the palette... replace the attached palette files

And also in the main palette file, I added VI_Tree.vi there. If you open it, you see all the driver's VIs.

Hi Milo,

I tested your VI example and it safe the hardcopy as a WMF file to the internal Memory of the FSEM.

But at the end of the Programm it  stopped with an error and the file is not copied to the Windows PC.

See attached Picture of the failure message.

Please could you give me again a hint to solve this ?

Thx
