(Q) Labview and HP-IB card

Hi,

I have a problem in using LabView with HP-IB card (HP82341D).
The GPIB-search proram of national instrument can not find the interface
card. I also heard that HP-IB cards are not compatible wit LabView. Is it
true? If not, how I can use Labview 5.1 with the HP-IB card? Thank you in
advance.

If it is not compatible it is because the drivers provided by HP do not
work. I have not used HP card, but I have used Kiethley. It only worked
with Kiethley drivers. I have been using NI hardware and LV for 13
years and in my experience, NI has never excluded a competitor, but the
competitor needed to support it's own product. Yo
ur solution will lie
in support from HP.
Good luck
Jim

Did you try out installing the HP-VISA drivers and using the LabView
VISA functions? By using VISA I managed to use a HP-GPIB card with
LabView, but I am not sure if it was the HP82341D.
As far as I remember, you must do the following to use HP-VISA:
After installing LabView install HP-VISA on your computer.
After this you must start the Solution wizards/instrument wizard to
prepare HP-VI
SA to run with LabView, as far as I remeber you will be
asked if you want to use HP-VISA with LabView. After this you should
be able to communicate with the HP card by using the VISA-functions.
I hope this will help you.
