Problema con librerías ActiveX - The selected file is not a .NET assembly, type library or automation executable

Estoy tratando de cargar algunas librerías para usarlas desde ActiveX, pero al intentar abrirlas con el Automation Open Function me aparece el mensaje "The selected file is not a .NET assembly, type library or automation executable"

¿A que se debe esto?.

Creo que si tengo la versión correcta de .Net, no se si influya que estoy trabajando en LabView 8.6 y después instalé un demo de LabView 2010. Que podría checar?.

Hola Fercho buen dia, estuve revisando tu problema y encontré la siguiente liga donde presenta un error similar al tuyo, checala y si aun sigues teniendo el problema avisame para explorar nuevas alternativas.

           I have Labview 8.5.1 ,.not frame work 3.0 installed ,but when i tried to open a DLL file using Automation refnum from Activex palete it is showing the error "The selected file is not a .NET assembly, type library or automation executable".I checked all the solution given in this forum,please help
