Problem running my vi using the ni scope drivers for a ni5102 digitizer on a RT system

Hello, my system is:
chassis:ni pxi-1042
Real Time  controller 8106
ADC ni pxi-5102

I can run the first vi in attachment that doesn't use ni scope driver.
If I try to run vi that uses ni scope drivers it gives the following error:
niScope Initialize With Options.vi<ERR>Insufficient location information or the device or resource is not present in the system.

From max I see correctly the devices and so on. The problem that I can't see in the vi the resource name that I have previously set with Max.

thanks

ciao

Mario

hello mario,

do you have the scope driver as well as the DAQmx installed on the RT target. you need them in order to get the VI run.

hello mario,

the error indicates, that the ressource could not be found.
do you pass the DAQmx device name to the scope VIs?

kind regards,

robert

Hello Robert,

Yes I pass the name to the scope Vi.

From max for example I have set alias name on my system ADC and also the same name on visa alias on '(the ip address)'.

for example, if I take the ni scope driver "Initialize", as resource name choise in the vi it gives to me only 'DAQ::2' even if from max I have put ADC as alias name.

if I also try to type in the resource name box 'ADC', it doesn't work.

thanks again!

ciao

hello mario,

i tried the same on a testsystem and if i put the default value like "DAQ::1" i receive the same error you describe.

i set up my devicename as "Dev5" on the remote system (see attachment) and if i use this as identifier, it works fine.

so i guess it must somehow be related to the alias on the remote system.

kind regards,

robert
