PT-100 reading in Agilent 34972A with LABVIEW VI

Hi,

I want to read the temperature with the help of 4 wire RTD (PT-100) on the card of 34901A. I was reading the temperature by configuring the channel according to T type or J type thermocouples; however, I couldn't configure the 4 wire RTD (PT-100) with the same way. How can I measure the temperature by using the same way or other ways?

Best,

TE

Hi TE,

what does the manual of your DMM say about configuring PT100 4-wire measurements?

Best regards,
GerdW

Dear GerdW,

I configurated it from the device and took the values correctly from the device screen but I couldn't configure it from the LABVIEW.

Best,

Hi tolga,

what happens when you lookup the needed SCPI commands in your manual and send them on your own to your device?

Do you get any response from your device?

Best regards,
GerdW

Dear DerdW,

I solved the problem. The problem was the reading of the PT-100 with four-wire. I contacted the Agilent suppliers and I realized that it was about the wrong connection of the wires to the 34901A card with the n+10 wiring system. Now, I can take both J-type & T-type thermocouples and PT-100 data. Thanks for your valuable interest in my issue.

Best wishes,

TE
