I have some test code, not of my design.
Rather than redesign the full functionality, I collected the main functions into Sub Vi's and put them in a event structure.
The sub Vi's are configured to not open when executed, the Main Front Panel just allows a user to enter info, the provides Pass or Fail.
(I'm creating and distributing an executable file)
I would like the ability to open the Sub Vi front panels for future trouble shooting purposes.
The determination would be made by login/password, which I'm familiar with, but
I have no experience with forcing a Sub Vi front panel to open under specific circumstances.
The question, as I typed it in the subject returned no results.
I'm sorry if this is a repeat question !

You can use an Invoke Node to open or close the front panel.

There are property nodes for each vi's, who can be called in case structures : you can change the behaviour of a front pannel according to an error or what you want... (even in .exe mode)
