Need a Ni 9401 or no

Hi all,

I have a cRio 9047 and I want to connect a rotary encoder with 5000 point per revolution. 

Do I need the ni 9401 or the internal timer of cRio 9047 should work ?

cRIO-9047 has four counters that can do the encoder measurement via the counter task. You would need digital input channels to route the external encoder signal to the counter. You can choose any C Series Digital Module that suits your requirement in term of logic level and channel counts.
