NI-DAQ 6.6 and Test Panels

Hi,
I installed NI-DAQ 6.6 with my PCI-7030/6040E RT boards.
But the test panels icon is greyed out, meaning I cannot do a quick check.

Is there a seperate program to install to activate the Test Panel?

Thanks.

i don't think 6.6 is 'finished' it trashed all my setting for a daq-500 and i had to go back to 6.1 to finally get
it to work again.

if you haven't DON'T install 6.6

I must admit, I'm a bit curious by what you mean with "...it trashed all my
setting for a daq-500". There are only 2 settings you can choose for this
card: Device number, and accessory. The rest of the card's information is
held by the operating system... such as base address, IRQ, slot, etc. NI-DAQ
simply reads this info from the OS.

Was the problem, perhaps with any custom Channel Wizard channels? With NI-DAQ
6.5.x (which came out about a year ago), we introduced the Measurement &
Automation Explorer. This utility integrates the former Channel Wizard from
LabVIEW, into its own shell. These channels are referred to in M&A Explorer
as "Virtual Channels". The upgrade path should have been seemless.

NI-DAQ 6.6, was rigorously tested before it was released and is quite possibly
the most stable version I have ever seen. I apologize for the fact that
you have seen difficulty using NI-DAQ, however your efforts would have been
much better spent working with our support team to find a fix to your problem.
If you have not already, please contact them at: support@ni.com

The test panels button should be greyed out for the 7030/6040E RT board, this
is the correct behavior. There is no path of communication between the host
computer and the DAQ daughter card with the present architecture. The best
way to test and verify the state of the RT DAQ device is to run one of the
LabVIEW DAQ examples and verify the results.
