Hi
we are using NI 9853 High speed CAN module in CRIO chassis.
Most often the CAN Port 1 is getting damaged. Its externally powered CAN Port. The DUT CAN port is connected directly to NI 9853 CAN port .
Any suggestions to solve the issue would be helpful..

Use a better (aka more safe) power supply for port1!
I use the same 9853 modules in a lot of devices and never had problems with port1 (as long as I supply power to the port)…

This is the connection diagram for NI 9853 CAN 1.
Electronic circuit breaker ( 4 channel) is connected for protection of power supply. In damaged NI 9853 the Electronic circuit breaker channel is getting tripped.

You don't need to "protect the power supply"! This PhoenixContact circuit breaker is a fine electronics part, but completely useless for your NI9853 module! That module is specified with just 1W power (max), this would be just 42mA from your 24V power supply! The circuit breaker starts to work from 500mA! A simple 0.1A (fast) fuse would be ok too…
(I never needed any dedicated fuses for those CAN ports, the whole cRIO is supplied from the same 24V supply with just one 3A fuse…)
You need to protect the CAN port from voltage spikes or from high potentials, most probably from your XRay device. There are CAN transceivers providing much larger insulation voltages than the NI9853 module!

Hi
The CAN Port 0 and CAN Port 1 of NI 9853 are connected to different X-ray generators (2 No of DUT).
The externally powered CAN port 1 on NI 9853 is getting damaged frequently, CAN Port 0 is working fine.
