Modbus is supported by NI's lookout protocol drivers and is accessible
over LV OPC client.

If you have an OPC driver from your device vendor, you can try access it
from LV, e.g. via DataSocket.
A lot of info search at zone.ni.com, keyword: OPC, LabVIEW.

We have used modbus to drive Eurotherm and Systag hardware. If yuo have a
documented divice, it works fine.

For your information, (no need to make our mistakes again), there are two
modbus types:

modbus RTU, and
modbus ASCII

There are RTU drivers available in our online library (for free...). We also
have ASCII drivers, but it's not ours.

Wiebe Walstra.

I was only able to find one Modbus driver in your library , called
MBmaster.vi , is that the one ? It seems to have been developed by a third
party , is this the one that's not yours and which one did I miss?

The driver was developed by our company. It is the RTU driver.

The ASCII driver is not ours, and is not available through our webpage.
There is more information on:

www.mooregoodideas.com/FAVIs/PLC.htm

although I could not find a ASCII modbus driver.

We've got the ASCII drivers via a posting on pica army:

http://labview.pica.army.mil

Hope this help...

Regards,

Wiebe Walstra.
