Modbus TCP in LabVIEW NXG 1.0

Just a quick question, I'm aware lab view nxg doesn't current support modbus,

Is this something that is currently being worked on and therefore will be available in the not too distant future?

Or is it likely to be a long time before this arrives?

Apologies if this is a dumb question.

Thanks

Hi Andrew,

NXG will eventually become the replacement for LabVIEW 17, 18, etc...

But the development of NXG is happening in parallel with LabVIEW 2017 and as such we do not have a definitive answer to when certain features will become available in NXG. The page in the post below - http://www.ni.com/en-gb/shop/labview/compare-labview-nxg-and-labview.html

Is a great way of seeing what the NXG R&D team are looking towards currently, but even though Modbus hasn't made the list as of yet, it will most definitely become apart of NXG in the future.

Because the development of NXG will take time (due to the hundreds of toolkits, adaptors and modules) we are using LabVIEW 17 and NXG side by side until NXG has caught up.

Thanks,

Roberto

that means: see ya in 3 years my boy.

LOL

Already saw the "innovations" of LV 2018. LV Doesn't worth upgrade since 2015.

Consider just one simple thing: in NGX strings are unicode. That is how they should be.

BUT

NI does NOT integrate Unicode strings into LV2018, 2019, etc.

There are also third-party toolkits available from Saphir, supporting Modbus for both TCP and serial communication in LabVIEW NXG 2.0:
