Missing tools palette

Hi everybody!

I have a problem with LabView 5.1:
After installing the application builder 5.1 and the LabView 5.1f1
Upgrade, I'm not able to get the Tools Palette back on the screen. The
Menu item 'Windows/Show Tools Palette' just doesn't work, the only
alternative is 'Shift+Ctrl+Right Mouse Button', but the tools palette
disappears as soon as I click anywhere outside the palette.

Has anybody encountered this problem, and is there a solution other than
reinstalling the whole thing again?

Res,

We have seen this before at NI... check out our KnowledgeBase off of
ni.com... visit
http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/$$Search

and do a KnowledgeBase search on
"labview and tool* and palette"

You will see a KBase entry that is of your interest.

This is probably due to a resolution change on the monitor. You
can probably fix it by changing the computer to a higher resolution
and moving the palette onto the common portion of the screen, then
changing resolution back to the current setting.

Another way to fix it is to
open the .ini file for LV. It will
most likely be in the same directory as LV and have the same
name with the .ini extension. This file is text and can be
read/modified using something like Notepad. It will have a line
indicating where on the screen the tool palette should be placed.
You can either change the numbers, or just delete the line.

Thanks for the advice! I checked the .ini file and found out that there were
negative values for the position of the tools palette. Changing those to
positive values brought the palette back in the screen.
