Hi aru,

the NI9209 is a "standard" voltage measurement module with a simple ±10V measurement range. It isn't suited very well to measure µV of thermocouples! (Read the specs on accuracy and noise levels!)

That being said: wire your thermocouples to the module and read their voltage. Use an additional TC to measure temperature at the module to create some simple kind of CJC. Use both voltage signals to calculate the temperature…

Best regards,
GerdW

Hi aru,

as it can measure ±10V it can also measure some mV - but again: read the manual on the topics "accuracy" and "noise"…

Best regards,

I think the answer to your question is you could read a thermocouple with that hardware, but the reading will likely jump by several degrees C, and will probably have a bunch of electrical noise making the reading not useful.  Get the appropriate hardware for your sensor type, and this would be something that can read the uV range, like the 9211, or 9219
