Measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX) 'Web Browser' dialog with 'Unable to download'

Hi all,

 

I'm seeing a somewhat bizarre error message from MAX 17.5 at a client's site.  When I click on the tree view of devices in the left of the window, this dialog pops up:

This is on a production machine, so it doesn't have any internet access

 

I have no idea what 'Internet site' MAX is trying to talk to, or why it seems to be triggered by clicking on devices or channels.  I tried turning off the help pane on the right of the window but this didn't seem to have any effect.

NI MAX uses some of the TCP ports, if the firewall is blocking these ports, MAX cannot function.

Thanks Santhosh,

 

There is an ethernet-connected DAQ device attached to this PC, but it's working fine.  We did originally have issues with the firewall preventing the device from showing up, the error messages are quite different to this
