have you tried to uninstall and reinstall? Has it ever worked? If so, what has changed recently? Do you have admin privliges on the tartget machine? Sounds like you may need to call NI tech support instead of hanging out here for help.
Hi Irene, Thanks for posting. What exactly do you mean when you day you can't run LabVIEW. What happens when you try it. Also, it sounds like you have an exe that you are running. How do you know where it is hanging? Depending some of you answers we also might consider reinstalling your GPIB driver.

Sorry about that, didn't read the title carefully enough. Since you're having issues with LabVIEW and MAX I think there might be a problem with some of your device drivers. Try repairing or reinstalling your 488.2 driver in add/remove programs in control panel.
