MAX freeze at start

Solved!
Go to solution

Hi,

When I start MAX, splash screen shows and that's it. No errors, it freezes. I need to kill it in "Task manager". I have no idea what to do.

I followed this articel:

http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/websearch/86256F0E001DA9FF86256FFD005B827C?OpenDocument

without any success.

Sorry for posting this question here but I'm not sure where to put it.

How long have you waited before killing it with task manager?  I know that MAX can take a long time to load up.  I would give it at least a couple minutes, though it should be up within a minute.  To me it seems to take longer than it should, but it does come up.

Hi,

15 minutes is long enough?

I'm checking system with antivirus soft right now.

Yes.  I think 15 minutes is a little too long to have to wait.  Checking your system for viruses is a good idea.  You may also want to try disabling anti-virus and any firewalls temporarily to see if MAX loads any faster in that situation, in case somehow one or the other is conflicting with however MAX does its system checks when it loads up.
