Labview, how to Check whether GSM has sent a SMS successfully

Here is a tough question.

Here I have a VI for message sending by using a GSM modem, but after sending, I want to know that whether that SMS gas been sent successfully or not?

Some said after sending, the GSM will give out a acknowledgement to inform user of the sending status.

So here is my question, how can I check whether the previous message has been sent successfully or not?

How are you communicating to the modem, via AT commands or using a DLL?

What is the make/model of the modem?
