Labview crashes when I try to run the File Dialog.vi

When I run the File Dialog of Labview Labview crashes when I indicate no filepath.
it also crashes when I try to browse on the front panel, with the path browse knob (same error ?)

I already tried without success to reinstall Labview.

Which LV version are you running? And what OS are you running?

I can't remember having LV crash because of a file open dialog. A run-time error, maybe but no crash.
If it crashes when you are browsing, there is definitely a problem somewhere. I haven't seen any problems on LV6.0, 6.1, 6.1i, 7.0 & 7.1..

Is the folder you are looking for hard-coded?
Although this one may not apply, I will still ask it: Does the directory exist?

Do you get an error message and an error number?

Are you running a vi from within LV or is it a LV executable?

Sorry for so many questions.. These will help us get on the right track to propose a quick solution..
