Labview RTOS ?

Hello All,

I am having some difficulty with the Pharlap OS. I am using the
PXI-8156B controller but the environment is much harsher that I though.
So I got a Solid State disk, and installed it in the chassis.

When I try to format the disk using the RT Format Diskette, it is
exiting with:

"Warning KERNEL.346520: Error Initializing IDE drive C:
Format failure 103"

When I try to boot up the chassis with the RT Boot Diskette, from
time to time, it gives me the same warning when it tries to access the
disk.

The Solid State disk that I am using is the FDD250IDE 1024MB from
M-System. I called them up, and they told me that the disk is not OS
dependant. I went to Pharlap.com, and M-System Flash Disk is compatible
with ETS.

When I try to access/format in DOS/WIN98, it works like a charm.

Any help would be appreciated,

Joao Araujo.

One thing you can consider is using one of the 8140RT series controller. These controllers have use a CompactFlash instead of a hard drive. Depending on the performance you require, these might solve your application. Here is a link to some more information about these controllers: http://sine.ni.com/apps/we/nioc.vp?cid=10573〈=US

National Instruments does not support any modifications to the controller, including replacing the harddrive.

For more information and suggestions, you can contact National Instruments support.

Hello dafna,

I can't use the 8140RT series controller, it is too slow and the max
CompactFlash size is 256MB, I need 1GB at least for recording my data.
That why I went for the M-System IDE Flash Disk.

Thanks,

Joao Araujo.
