Labview 8.6.1 RT crashes while developing

Solved!
Go to solution

Hallo, I am using LV 8.6.1 with real time extension.

While developing, sometimes occurs that LV environment crashes without any error message.

It simply closes all.

It happens when, for example, i am trying to wire some variables or create some new local variable.

I enclose two lvfailurelogs of these crashes.

Has someone any idea why this happens?

Thank you.

Marco

Hi Marco,

does this crash happen randomicly or is it systematic? Does it happen also on different PCs?

Is your block diagram big, with a lot of objects and subVIs? In some cases, this was connected to similar error logs.

Sometimes, what suggested in this forum have helped: let me know if it helps also in your case!

Bye!

hallo

thanks for your reply

no the project is not so big!

the crash occurred in a complete random way.

it was strange because it happened on a new planform (new pc with new labview 861 rt installed and no other applications)

but yesterday i did a mass compile... it seems that now it is working without crashes!

i will use it again the next days and will let you know

thanks a lot!!

good all to yoU

So, from which version of LV RT did you transfer the code to LV RT 8.6.1?

Licia, is this a known issue with LV RT 8.6.1? Can you confirm this?

Hi Partha,

actually there is no similar known issue for LabVIEW RT 8.6.1.

In any case, Marco's problem should be more investigated and reproduced to understand possible similarities.

hi all,

the installed LV 861 + RT package was all included in the developer suite folder provided from NI to alliance members

the project was created by zero on this new platform, not imported

the laptop is a dell latitude e5500 brand new + XP Pro sp3

thanks!!

good work

Why did you Mass Cmpile then? Any particular reason? OR, just it was one of those trial & error steps you did to debug your project?

Why I m asking all these is because normally Mass Compile is done on VIs or the folder(s) containing the VIs, inherited from a lower version of LV.

Please see the attached screenshsots.

i did a mass compile of my project folder only because i've experienced that sometimes it helps...

this even if you are using the same version vis!

is it possible that some vis in install package were not well aligned?

did you see something inside the attached failure logs?

I saw the error logs, but cant understand much.

I saw something related to User32 DLL of Windows. Is that your RT ptoj has any external DLL to be called by LV? If so, did you check the compatibility of that DLL with LVRT?

I recently encountered with a problem of this sort...
