Labview 7 Express will not wire connections

Solved!
Go to solution

I am using an old computer at work that has LabVIEW 7 Express. When attepting to make a VI, I can place sub-VI's on the block diagram but I am unable to wire anything. Also, I cannot change the size of text boxes or graphs on the front panel.

Is there some setting somewhere that turns-on these features?

Sounds like you need to familiarize yourself with the process of Creating SubVIs.  Specifically the part about Building the Connector Pane.

Or, if you're dropping LV native functions, perhaps you simply have the wrong tool selected.  This could also explain the resizing issue.

Sorry for the miscommunication. By sub-VI, I meant the VI's that you drag off the palette onto the block diagram (add, subtact, while-loop, ect.). I cannot get the wire-spool to show-up over connectors to wire the connections.

By resize, I mean when I click on a graph, normally I can grab a corner to change this size. I assume these two problems have the same resolution.

Did you see the second part of my post?  It sounds like you have the wrong tool selected.

Thank you! I knew it was something simple. I guess all the other versions of LabVIEW that I have used had auto-selection set as a default.
