Labview 6.1 to 7.1 upgrade issue

I'm in the process of upgrading software from Labview 6.1 to 7.1. We use a vi in the victl.llb called Convert Type Descriptor and Flat Data.vi. Under 6.1 this vi works without error. Under 7.1 I get an error code 1 which means, "An input parameter is invalid". Does anybody know of upgrade issues in this area, or what my problem might be?
